The Problem

Instant Shade is a well-established supplier of premium outdoor umbrellas for venues across Australia, but they wanted to boost direct-to-consumer sales—specifically targeting homeowners looking for a high-quality backyard umbrella for summer. The challenge? Convincing buyers that this wasn’t just any outdoor umbrella—it was built to last.

Creative Process
  • Concept Development – Brainstormed ways to showcase the umbrella’s durability in a way that felt relatable and engaging.
  • Strength in Action – Landed on a bold, attention-grabbing concept: a guy doing pull-ups on the umbrella, proving its incredible sturdiness.
  • Photography & Video Execution – Captured the umbrella in various backyard settings, reinforcing its premium appeal while keeping the messaging light, fun, and effective.

    The Solution

We created a standout ad campaign featuring a man casually using the umbrella as a pull-up bar, reinforcing its strength while keeping the tone humorous and relatable. Instead of a dry durability test, we made it a backyard problem-solver—when there’s no pull-up bar, your umbrella has you covered (literally).

    The Result

The campaign led to a notable increase in store inquiries, as more people were drawn to check out the umbrella in person. While direct conversions were harder to track due to the in-store purchase model, the surge in interest demonstrated the success of the creative approach in capturing attention and driving foot traffic.
